Going fast and pushing limits started for me around 8 or 9 years old, jumping bikes over friends willing to lay down in front of dirt ramps (yeah, the 90s were different).
Since then, I’ve always pushed projects to the next level, from lifted trucks to Mustangs, autocross, and time trials. After racing a 2019 EcoBoost Mustang, I really liked the independent rear suspension in the newer Mustang and how well it performed.
I’ve always liked the idea of a pro-touring truck, but that really clicked after my best friend Hunter Becton took me for a ride autocrossing his 1970 C10. After going to events like the Pro Touring Truck Shootout and LS Fest East, I knew if I ever built one, it had to have an IRS.
At the time I was mainly a Ford guy, but my neighbor of over 25 years had a 1990 OBS short bed sitting in his driveway for as long as I could remember. I always told myself that if he ever sold it, I’d buy it.
Years later, that opportunity finally came. In June of 2025, I became the owner and already knew exactly what I wanted to build: The goal is simple — build an old OBS truck that performs at a level people don’t expect.
Jesse at Spirit & Speed made that process a lot easier. With his knowledge and support, a few emails later and parts started showing up — my driveway quickly started to look like Brian O’Conner was building a 10-second car.
